The Production

The Journey Be Me Poetry Expression of Authenticity is more than a mic or words that rhyme. Though William is comfortable with both because to him, it’s not a performance; it’s his life. The Rhythm isn’t forced; it just happens, and that’s what makes his works authentic.  Journey Be Me will, at times, make you want to leave because being authentic means being exposed for who you’re pretending to be. You finally realize you’re not doing that anymore, and you walk away from everything and everyone that does not give you rest.

Being immersed in an authentic realm has a profound effect on the heart. Imagine what happens when that can be experienced as a family. Unfortunately, in today’s society, theatre has become immersed in a collective ideology that has made the family obsolete. The family has been relegated to Disneyland or “fun” objectives rather than thoughtful experiences that can captivate the imagination of our youth with their parents sitting alongside them. It forces conversations afterward that can change the direction of lives.

Religion vs relationship

William is adamant about His relationship with God and His personal redemption that is found through Jesus Christ. Just as equal, he is appalled at the religious dogma that has brought layers of confusion to many people. Having been raised in a Christian home and attending Church weekly, he became indifferent to the forced idea of fearing God. It was through an encounter with God at the age of 21 that he realized God just wanted a relationship with Him; it was then that he recognized why Jesus came and what He did. You will experience this truth in Williams’ poetry without the religious agenda.
